Senior officials in Israel: If an agreement is reached on the last subject in dispute - a ceasefire within a week. Cautious optimism in Israel on the eve of Hochstein and Dermer's meeting tonight. The two main disputes concern Israeli freedom of action in Lebanon in the event of a violation, and the composition of the supervisory committee in Lebanon. As far as Israel is concerned, freedom of activity in Lebanon is a red line. It is not clear whether the requirement is for it to appear in the agreement with Lebanon or whether their agreement will be required for the US to grant a party document that backs up such an action.<\/div>\n\n
